IPL Skin Rejuvenation

VISS Beauty puts the power of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) in your hands to easily treat rosacea, sun damage, age spots, mild wrinkling and vascular/pigmented lesions. The treatments also stimulate new collagen production beneath the skin surface, which remodels the collagen, firms the skin and shrinks pores.

Process

VISS IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment works by directing controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body's own natural chemicals - melanin in the pigmented areas and haemoglobin in the red blood.

Both these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored, and to gently damage the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas where vascular damage is seen. The body is then prompted to absorb and repair this gentle damage by creating new cells, yielding the desired response. This technique is called Selective Photothermolysis.

For Acne clearance, VISS IPL treatment works by reducing the blood supply to the sebaceous gland, which slows down production of the body oil sebum.

The visible light produced by the VISS IPL System are carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the targets without damaging surrounding tissues.

For many people, using VISS IPL may be their first experience with a light-based device designed for self-treatment. Check out the guide below to get an overview of what to expect.

Before

Before using the VISS device you should read the entire manual very carefully. The treatment area must be clean and clear from any cosmetic product.

To prepare for treatment, you must apply the VISS IPL Skin rejuvenation Pre-treatment Conductive Gel to prepare the skin and enhance results.

During

during1
Put on the optional Safety Glasses. VISS IPL is effortlessly easy - simply turn the device on, adjust the light intensity to the level that suits you (click here to see what level is right for you), and place the applicator on your skin.
during2
When the ready to flash indicator sounds, press the flash button and repeat this action. Make sure you overlap the treated areas slightly.

For each flash, an area of 6 cm2 is targeted (3cm x 2cm), up to 220 hairs.
during3
During this flash, you will normally feel a sensation of warmth and tingling. When treating more sensitive areas, this sensation may be similar to a warm rubber band being snapped against the skin.

After

After treatment, apply the VISS IPL Post-treatment cream to hydrate, replenish and protect your skin.

Depending on the number of conditions you are treating and the severity of the individual problem, a series of 8 to 12 weekly treatment sessions are recommended.

You'll begin to notice visible results within 1 months of regular treatment. Progressive improvements will be seen in 2 months and the final result will show after completing 3 months of regular treatment. Follow up treatments can be done 3 months after first treatment series completion.

1. Is VISS IPL suitable for me?
VISS IPL has eight adjustable light intensity settings (1-8) to ensure a gentle treatment across different skin tones (white, beige, light brown, mid brown and dark brown) and body hair colours (dark blonde to black). Take care: IPL treatment is not effective on red hair, grey hair or light blonde hair. Nor is it suitable for black skin, as it can cause skin damage. Check the skin/hair type chart to see if VISS IPL is suitable for you.

2. Can men use too?
Yes – VISS IPL can be used by both men and women.

3. What is the difference between Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and laser treatment?
IPL emits light of all visible wavelengths (like a photo flash) while laser emits a single beam of light at a specific wavelength (like a laser pointer). Different wavelengths penetrate the skin to different depths so using IPL is like using a group of lasers in a single treatment. Generally for hair removal, IPL and laser are equally effective. Also, IPL treatment heads are up to 6 times larger than the small spot produced by lasers and therefore treatments are much quicker.

4. Is this device safe to use?
Yes, Studies by the Washington institute of Dermatological Laser Surgery confirm that low energy pulsed light can be applied safely and effectively for at-home hair removal in a variety of non facial locations and skin photo types I-IV.

5. How many treatments are required?
Depending on the number of conditions you are treating and the severity of the individual problem, a series of 8 to 12 weekly treatment sessions are recommended. The treatment provides gradual improvement with very low risk, and it preserves the wonderful "no downtime" feature that people appreciate so much.

6. What happens in a typical treatment?
A pretreatment gel must be applied to the area to be treated, and safety glasses to protect your eyes must be worn during treatment. Each treatment takes just a few minutes, depending on the area to be treated. You can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities. A post-treatment cream should be applied to hydrate and protect the skin after treatment.

7. How long before I see the results of the treatment?
The results will gradually manifest themselves over the course of your treatments. You'll begin to notice visible results within 1 months of regular treatment. Progressive improvements will be seen in 2 months and the final result will show after completing 3 months of regular treatment. Follow up treatments can be done 3 months after first treatment series completion.

8. Will using VISS IPL hurt?
Providing the correct intensity settings according to the skin tone were used and the instructions were followed, the experience should not be painful. Sometimes, a sensation of warmth or prickling may be felt. To get accustomed to VISS IPL hair removal system, it is recommended that you make test flashes, using the lowest recommended intensity setting, on an easily accessible area such as your hip. Once you are comfortable with this you can increase the intensity setting, step-by-step if necessary, but it should never become uncomfortable.

9. What happens if I use VISS IPL more often, will I see better/quicker results?
No, using your VISS IPL more often than recommended will not speed up results as your body will need time to recover from treatment. You should avoid treating the same area multiple times in one session since this will not improve efficacy, it only increases the risk of skin irritations.

10. Can it cause cancer?
No, IPL is filtered light and as such does not contain any significant ultraviolet light, neither UVA nor UVB. Skin cancer is felt to be due to exposure to ultraviolet light (UVA and UVB) along with ones own genetic make up and other unknown factors. There are no studies to suggest any increased cancer risk.

11. Does the VISS IPL Hair Removal System come with a guarantee or warranty?

Yes, VISS IPL comes with an unconditional 90-day Money Back Guarantee, giving you enough time to try the product and see the results. Should your VISS IPL have any issues after the first 90-days, we offer a 1-year International replacement warranty.
